Why a chemical peel, and why now?
Much of what makes skin look dull, marked, or uneven sits in its outer layers — dead cells, excess pigment, the aftermath of acne, the effects of sun. A chemical peel removes those damaged layers in a controlled way, prompting the skin to renew itself clearer and brighter.
Peels come in different acids and strengths, each suited to a different concern: salicylic acid for oily, acne-prone skin; mandelic and glycolic for pigmentation and glow; gentler formulations for sensitive skin. Matching the right peel to your skin is the whole game.
This matters enormously for Indian and brown skin, which is more prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. An overly aggressive peel, or the wrong acid, can leave dark patches worse than the original problem. A dermatologist-led peel is calibrated to treat effectively while protecting your skin tone.
What peels can treat.
Acne & Oil Control
Salicylic-based peels unclog pores, reduce oil, and calm active breakouts, while helping fade the marks they leave behind.
Pigmentation & Melasma
Carefully selected peels lighten stubborn pigmentation and melasma as part of a wider, dermatologist-led plan.
Tan & Dullness
Peels lift built-up tan and dead skin to restore an even, brighter complexion.
Texture & Fine Lines
Regular peels smooth rough texture and soften early fine lines by encouraging skin renewal.
How treatment works.
After assessing your skin type and concern, Dr. Kanchan selects the appropriate peel and strength — often starting gentle and building up over a course. The skin is cleansed, the solution applied for a carefully timed period, and then neutralised.
The treatment itself takes only 15 to 30 minutes. You may feel mild tingling or warmth during application, which settles quickly. Superficial peels — the most common — involve little to no visible peeling.
What to expect afterwards.
After a superficial peel, skin may look slightly pink and feel tight for a day or two, and there may be light flaking. Deeper peels involve more visible peeling over several days. Dr. Kanchan will tell you exactly what to expect for your specific peel.
Diligent sun protection afterwards is non-negotiable — freshly peeled skin is vulnerable to pigmentation, and sunscreen is what protects your result. A course of several sessions, spaced a few weeks apart, gives the best and most lasting improvement.
